S.-Pre-Law Dance Winds Up Festival

Margie Dudley, president of the E. j B. L. S. brought out the fact that the j May Fete crowd, all dressed up, would j hove some place to go tonight. Jack Sparks, Rice graduate of 1937, j will be featured in the vocal role with Steele and his band. This orchestra was selected af ter several members of the E. B. L. S. and the P re -Laws had heard music played by it in Austin at several Texas University functions. It was decided that Steele music was the best that could be obtained unless a real 'Dig name" band was brought in. This proved impossible. The dance is an annual function to raise funds for the scholarship of the E. B. L. S. and is the last formal of the year. The setting of the dance will be a Chinese garden. Phil Peden, president of the Pre-Laws, stated that the guns and bombs would be omitted from the decorations. Miss Dudley and Mr. Peden are general chairmen in charge of the dance for the two societies. Margaret Ellen Williams, chairman. Virginia Cashman, and Barbara Archer compose the decoration committee. Lucill'e Meyer and Margaret Turner are in charge of the hall and food. Rosemary Watkin, chairman. Marion Frost. Jean Lilliot, and Charlotte Carr arranged for the music. Print ing a r rangements were under the direction of Ortrud Lefevrc and Barbara Hymen. Mary Hannah, chairman, Mildred O'Riordan, and Mary Lucille Stevens were in charge of the sale of patron bids. (Continued on Page 3) Champaign, 111. — (ACP) — A new kind of business l ibrary has been formed here at the University of Illinois. The college of commerce and business administration has already collected more than 60,000 items for its l ibrary of historical and ephemeral material relating to business. Officials of the department predict that in 100 years this collection will throw such light on business of the past as has never been available in any collected form. The collection contains information on the lives of business men and material on how they conducted their businesses. It shows styles, customs, trends, utensils the names of which will be forgotten in the future.
